Friends share secrets

I always feel lonely and complaint about no friends. I feel very difficult to make friends in these years, and I blame the fact that most new people I met are married and have kids. But I feel it is not true today.

One of my co-worker talked with us his personal issues which bothers him recently. I feel weird at the beginning, because I probably only talk this kind of issues with very close friends, and definitely not in the office. Actually most of the co-workers gave him some advices, people joked about his issue but only for the purpose of making him relaxed.

So I began to think, probably it is me who pushes potential friends away. I tried to be nice and professional in the office, always answering the "How are you doing?" question with "Good". After thought about this, I began to chat with a good friend in China, and I told her a big secret of me. The feeling is so good, and I get some emotional support from her, plus I do feel I get closer with her.

DBA?

I do not really understand what is the differece between DBA and DB developer, it sounds like the DB developer develops the Database, defines tables, writing SPs,functions, triggers;and DBA runs/maintains them. But why DBA earns more than DB developer?

I should be a DBA. Sql is my most favorite language, and it is far from UI so no picky customers at some points. Plus it probably is a good career choice for elder guys/girls, LOL. I actually thought to be a DBA when I was 24, and my friend said no, nobody wants to hire a young DBA. But it seems to be the time now:)

Homemade Cranberry Jam

Recipe:
340 g fresh or frozen cranberry ( 1 package)
80 g sugar
1 cup water

I got this recipe from the package of cranberry, it calls for 200 g sugar. I reduced it to 80 g, and it tastes good!


My breadmaker has a 80 mins procedure for making jam, so I just used it. It is very easy, the only tip I want to share is: You may want to use foil to conver the inner bucket. Some cranberries may pop up and fall into the gap, then get burn there.

My favorite old song

Last weekend, I was shopping in a store in Richmond. Out of sudden I heard this song, then a lot of memory came back...

The good thing about listening to an old song is it recalls a lot of old days. Those sweet and sour memory from 10 years ago had become plainer and plainer. But thanks for this song, I refreshed those memory somehow :)

Plus, it is still a beautiful song even without those memory, LOL

When I was little

Came back from my China vacation, and brought back some old photos:


My grandpa went for a business trip to hongkong in the 80s, which is very rare at that time. He brought back this pink 2-layer dress for me. It was super expensive, probably equal to my grandama two weeks salary. All my little friends envied me for this dress ^_^

I still love this dress!!! I just don't remember why I had to alway wear those ugly socks...


I like soaking in the ocean, sitting by the ocean, or just watching the ocean. That' the best thing ever.

My cousin and I.
I met him and his wife on this trip. His wife complained to me that he didnot want to quit smoking. I was shocked as I never know him smoking before, then I told to his wife "He definitely didnot smoke when I know him". LOL
